We’ve Been Around a Minute
A LOVE LETTER TO SONOMA VALLEY
Jack London Village began in 1839 with the sawmill General Vallejo built at the confluence of the Asbury and Sonoma Creeks to process locally harvested redwoods. Joshua Chauvet bought the mill from Vallejo and converted it into a gristmill in 1856, and later built Glen Ellen Winery & Distillery on the property. The Pagani family kept it running until the 1960s, even through Prohibition. In the 1940s, Charles Pagani built the current cinderblock building to replace the stone winery, now home to Wine Country Chocolates, Yeti Restaurant, Schermeister Winery, and Songbird Parlour.
We fell in love with this land before we ever poured a glass of wine here. There's something in a place that's fed a community for nearly two centuries, through booms, through Prohibition, through generations of the same families keeping the lights on. We wanted to honor that. So we built a space filled with art, music, and inspiration gathered from around the world, and we filled our tables with ingredients grown by the farmers and artisans just down the road. Whether you're settled into a reserved table or perched at the bar, we hope Songbird Parlour feels like what it was built to be: a place where history, community, and a genuinely great meal all sit down together.
